Romania's railway network is one of the largest (the 4th in Europe) and most dense in Europe, with trains servicing every town and city in the country, and the many villages. The easiest, most comfortable and most rewarding way of travelling in Romania between cities is by train. Usually a train station can be found no further than 10km from a village.

Network

Romania's railway network is one of the largest and most dense in Europe. It has trains servicing every town and city in the country, and the many villages.

The fastest trains in Romania are the Intercity's - IC (running on the route Bucharest – Cluj-Napoca, Bucharest – Timisoara, and Bucharest – Iassy) and ICE (2 pairs of trains running on the route Bucharest – Constantza.

Romania is relatively well connected with the European railway network. There are daily international trains to the rest of Europe for example: Munich, Venice, Vienna and Prague.

    Reservation compulsory. Price depends on distance.

Special trains
